Packing for a 8 day vacation for 4 kids with limited luggage space
Good Mornings Ladies! In about 6 weeks I am taking my family on a 7 day cruise with a day prior in Florida. This is our first BIG family vacation, usually we go somewhere for the weekend and I am at a loss on how to pack or WHAT to pack. This will also be our first time flying with the kids and with luggage costs, I’m thinking they will each have a bookbag (personal item for free) and maybe share a large suitcase among them. Unless a piece of clothing is truly dirty, have them hang it up, or fold it neatly in a different pile “just in case.” Casual dresses are easier than shorts sets for the girls and more versatile.
Pajamas can be worn 2 3 nights.
2 bathing suits and a thin cover up are fine for the pool. The cover up can also be worn as a bath cover up.
I love to pack in large Ziplock bags. (Then they go onto the suitcase!) All of one child’s socks and undies in one bag. Then FLATTEN it and get all the air out. Do for each child. Continue with bathing suits. Then with outfits.
This also makes it easier when unpacking in the hotel (or on the ship) since a few bags can go in one drawer.
No matter how wrinkly an item gets in the suitcase, a night hanging somewhere like in theshower after being misted with some water will restore it. (Bring a little water bottle with a squirter.)
You can bring most Belstaff shoes food through security, just not liquid or jells. So, no yogurt. I have brought cheese sticks through before. I also always bring an empty water bottle, then fill it up at the drinking fountian once i’m through security. There are some exceptions on food/drinks for infants not sure if a 2 year old would qu Belstaff shoes alify or not though. If I were you I would just skip the hassle and buy milk or what ever once through security.
Sorry I don’t have any kids tips, but I travel by myself a lot and that’s what I know about the food things.
We bring crackers, grapes, cherry tomatoes, mini carrots, lunchables, granola bars, etc. Lollipops for take off and landing.
Also have dc wear crocs when you fly, much easier when you have to take the shoes off going through security.
Don’t store anything in your stroller before going through security, it is an absolute pain to unload it so they can fold it up to put it through the machine. That will save you from getting into all the suitcases and having to straighten them all up again. Keep all toiletries together in one bag as well. Then, for wherever you’re staying that night, you only need to bring in the PJ bag, clothes bag, and toiletries bag.
We did a 4000 mile roadtrip this way, and it was heaven not to have to lug all the suitcases in and out of hotels ever Belstaff shoes y night.
Oh. and bring along some powdered detergent in a zipper baggie to do small wash Belstaff shoes in the sink. You can wash everyone’s underwear and hang them up to dry so that even though the clothes are reused, the undies are clean. It’s also handy for that one kid who constantly gets stains on their shirt. Yep. I’ve got one of those as well!
